The Josh Samuels Show
History
Following the success of FC Politics, Josh was then offered the chance to become the first-ever sports presenter of the recently-launched Solihull Radio in his hometown. After pitching the idea of a show solely about football, Josh debated a range of titles, before settling on the simpler "The Josh Samuels Show". He was offered another prime time slot - this time at 3-5 every Saturday afternoon - and, two months after joining the Solihull Radio presenting team, The Josh Samuels Show officially launched on the 9th June 2018.
Achievements
After hitting the ground running, The Josh Samuels Show would go on to make and break record after record on Solihull Radio, including:
- becoming the first show to pass 60 listeners on a single episode
- the first show to reach 100 listeners on a single episode
- the first show to have five episodes reach 100 listeners
- the most-listened to show for fifteen consecutive weeks (only ended by a break for Josh's 21st birthday)
Despite the Josh's initial agreement being to present on Solihull Radio until the end of August 2018, such was the popularity of the show that he was asked to continue following his move to Lyon, France in the form of pre-recorded episodes.
Josh left Solihull Radio in January 2019, leaving records and a legacy and setting a standard that will never be matched.
